The source was from the unpopular opinions blog. The worst thing about that post from that blog is it’s not an unpopular opinion, yet everyone reblogging it probably feels like some sort of radical. No, you’re very banal. Over 85,000 people read that garbage with you and liked or reblogged it. You’re following dominant ideology. Wake the fuck up.

As for the blog, it seems to often substitute tone for substance, empowering people to think less. My blog, transfeminist blogs, socialist blogs, or any blog based on dissent, would be more aptly named the unpopular opinion. It’s quite an irony.

my friend made me this vest and back patch!!

I love that back patch. I also made a lisa frank back patch, I painted mine. Need to sew the sides of the patch so it doesn’t fray like crazy though.

I am really starting to hate Tumblr because of pictures like this. Irrelevant comparisons used to try to make the youth of today feel like shit, like what they’re doing, the choices that they’re making and how they decide to look somehow isn’t good enough.Bullshit. Why is it bullshit? I shall explain.
I assume this is supposed to show the juxtaposition between classy women/girls and trashy ones. There were trashy girls 50, 60, 100 years ago as well, just putting it out there in case any of you idiots weren’t aware of this. I know it’s hard for the simple-minded to understand, but one photograph is not indicative of the lives of an entire society. Never has been never will be.
Just as there were trashy girls back in the day, there are incredibly classy girls now, as well. Reiterating my point; one photograph =/= everyone.
I could make the exact same point by taking a photograph of some flappers or hookers in an illegal bar in the 1940s and placing it next to an image of demurely dressed Taylor Swift, or whoever bloody society idolises as ‘pure’ these days. Thus disproving the historical divide.
Know the saddest thing, though? In both of these images, the girls pictured look happy, healthy and beautiful. Who are you to tear that down?

This is so true. iloveyoulessthanpunk is fantastic.

This.

“Know the saddest thing, though? In both of these images, the girls pictured look happy, healthy and beautiful. Who are you to tear that down? ” That’s the best comment. A comment that everyone should take note of and learn from. One more point, those girls were most likely criticized for showing off too much leg. The times change and evolve and what society dictates as acceptable is always changing. However who gives a fuck about society anyway?

^ Exactly. I’m sick of seeing comparisons of women from years ago to now. Acting like our generation is so skanky. People sound like prudish grannies. People don’t dress like they did in the 50s, times change. The girls in the 2nd picture look like they are wearing outfits I would see in wetseal or forever 21 or other trendy shops. Maybe they were going clubbing or it is really hot out. You know what I think is funny? Nobody goes around saying people in swimsuits at the beach are skanky for showing lots of skin, or when a girl wears shorts and a tanktop. Why other people are SOOO concerned about what another girl choses to wear, i don’t know… this picture looks like some slut shaming garbage. Funny how this picture is one of the “unpopular-opinions” posts, because it seems like a majority of society slut shames and judges other people for how they dress.
